Indispensable people are always looking for ways to help others grow around them. They demonstrate that they value others not only by acknowledging others’ contributions but also by helping them to develop and gain new levels of capability and maturity. Others want to be on the team of the indispensable person, because they know that they will grow in the process, which will enable them to be more indispensable themselves. Dispensable people are threatened by the growth of others, worried that others will outshine them, while indispensable people know that their success will only increase through the improved capability of their team.
